Retail, Sales & service links

SRDC is a member of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS). CPAWS have partnered with National Geographic Maps to create a website and printed map that will highlight natural, cultural and historic attractions in Eastern NL. SRDC have provided nomination kits and information to municipalities and organizations in this region. SRDC will facilitate meetings with CPAWS representatives in this area in the coming months. To be indentified on the GeoTourism map provides a great opportunity to inspire visitors to come here and experience our unique culture. For more information contact Tanya Edwards@cpaws.nl.org
The Retail, Sales and and Service sector includes a wide variety of organizations. When developing the SEP, the
Tourism sector was included under the service sector. While SRDC
maintains a strong working relationship with the HRTA, its focus has
been involved with the Eastern Destination Management
Organization EDMO). The purpose of the EDMO is to establish and
maintain a more sustainable and competitive tourism industry in rural
eastern NL, that will result in increased tourism visitation and
spending, theryby creating economic and social benefits
for the region. The role of SRDC in the EDMO will be one of advocacy,
facilitation, and product development support. For more in contact

The SRDC has been
instrumental in providing capacity building and strategic planning to
the Burin Peninsula Regional Trails Association. It is the goal of the
BPRTA to construct a linear ATV trail to connect the BP with
Goobies and become part of the NL Trailways. SRDC will continue to
assist the BPRTA with planning, proposal writing and application
processes. For more information on the Burin Peninsula Regional Trails
